Here are some of the most common methods to take screenshot on Windows: 

Using Snipping Tool

  • First of all click on Start and then Snipping Tool. Please search for Snipping Tool if you can’t find it.
  • In the Snipping Tool, select New and move the crosshair to where you want to capture.
  • Click and drag to select an area which you want to capture and release your Mouse or Track-pad.
  • Now click on File and then Save As to save it. 

You can use shortcut key to take screenshot, by pressing Windows Key + Shift + S. This will open a small menu at the top of your screen where you can select the snip type (Rectangular, Free form, Window, or Full screen). After capturing, the screenshot will be copied to the clipboard, and you’ll see a notification to edit or save it.

Print Screen (PrtScn) Key

You'll find it on the upper-right side of most keyboards (or next to the Space Bar on some) Print Screen button (PrtSc). It will copy an image of your entire screen to the clipboard. You can then hit Ctrl + V to paste it into a document.

Windows Game Bar (for Games) 

  • First of all press Windows Key + G to open the Game.
  • Click on the camera icon or press Windows Key + Alt + PrtScn to take a screenshot. The screenshot will be saved in the Videos > Captures folder.
